Stamp duty, deposit, legal charges
Stamp Duty Land Tax is a government tax on properties over a certain value.
The buyer pays this on completion of the purchase. The tax is calculated as a
percentage of the property's value.
Commission for selling your home (this won't apply if you're buying your first home)
You'll generally need to pay commission to an estate agent if you're selling your home
that is normally a percentage of the purchase price, but make sure to check for hidden
charges too.
Costs vary but check that your home insurance covers you for the move. If not, arrange for separate cover.
